Jack McLean Park & Aquatic Center

The selection process was a Design Build Competition by the City of Tallahassee, Florida. Gilchrist Ross Crowe undertook this project as a partner in a design build team. The team was awarded the project based on scoring the overall highest on several evaluation categories, including site design, pool design, building design, management plan and project schedule. The facility has a zero-depth entry play pool, 8-lane lap/competition pool, and 3 buildings totaling 20,400gsf. The recreation building contains a gymnasium, community meeting room, pre-teen activity room, teen activity room, exercise/weight room, multi-purpose room, control desk and offices. The bathhouse contains toilet rooms, shower rooms and lifeguard control office. Site improvements included a vehicle loop at the main entry sufficient for school bus drop-off and pickup, storm-water control facility and low maintenance landscaping.
