GRC was selected to design the Children’s Medial Services Building which serves the underprivileged children in Leon County. Our goal was to create a welcoming environment for parents and children to meet with local volunteer doctors. A particular challenge was Clinic Day when 100+children would be dropped off from local schools for general check-ups. This required an efficient flow which is reflected in the floor plan. We also used durable but pleasing finishes in enhance the user experience.

 

The building is a 31,000 SF two story structure with our goal to create residential or home like quality. We also designed a playground which could easily be monitored by parents. The first floor is dedicated to public and medical functions. The public events would include seminars  on diets , nutrition and healthy lifestyles. The second floor is dedicated primarily to  administrative offices and conference facilities.
